Impossible to vote for just one...I want Buffy, Angel and Tru Calling back!

Of course, I also want Firefly, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, and La Femme Nikita back...

I'd rather have Angel than Buffy. The Slayer series found a fitting end, but it had to sputter toward the end to reach there. Angel, on the other hand, seemed to get better with age. Which might be what you'd expect from a series about an immortal.

Of course, if Firefly were a choice, I'd rather have that instead of Angel, with Wonderfalls just behind them both. But I'd prefer Wonderfalls or Angel over the Wash-less Firefly. Another series that never gets a mention, but that I truly loved, was the Hatem/Greenwalt show Miracles. I might want that most of all.

Buffy: came to a logical conclusion.
Angel: the series really couldn't continue in the same form without finding a flimsy excuse to resurrect a character or two.
Futurama: that would work.
Dark Angel: the writers clearly lost their direction by the end of season 2.
Tru Calling: Meh.

Last word I heard was that Futurama will be coming back in DVD movie form (but not TV).

Looks like you have to register to vote, but its a pretty simple process. I know its just a poll and probably doesn't mean anything, but to see it on a site owned by Fox peaked my interest. I voted for Angel. Here are the results so far:

What no Firefly? In the absence of Firefly I voted Angel, as like many have said, Buffy came to a conclusion, and I really need to know what happened in that alley. Angel is currently way in the lead with a whopping 40%. Probably a bit late in the day to actually resurrect Angel as most of the still living (or at least undead) cast have their own stuff now - but it can't hurt the chance of any TV movies/spin offs.

Obviously I want all of the Joss verses back on TV along with some other shows that were prematurely canceled BUT I do have a nervous twitch when it comes to Fox now. Hence me wanting some movies for his verses. Even if you 'smooshed' the Buffy verse and Angel verse together for the movie. Going with the idea that Angel and his gang didn't win that night but didn't loose either. The war of good against evil has just been kicked up quit a few pegs. They've united with Buffy and her Slayers in the fight.

Firefly already got its movie Serenity but I'd be MORE then happy to get more and then more and then more and then move and then... I think you get my point.

There is so much garbage that is being turned into movies it makes for movie going not always of the good. I.E. Ultraviolet, the worst movie I've seen in a very long time. I don't know how studios aren't chasing Joss down to do movies with his already fully established verses. The fan base is most definitely there. I think even if you only love Joss because you got hooked in Firefly/Serenity and never watch BtVS or Ats you'd probably still be inclined to watch the movie because it's Joss. For me that's how I got hooked in Firefly/Serenity. I missed Firefly being on TV and then I heard about his movie I snagged the series and then watched Serenity 4 or 5 times in the theatre and then bought it on DVD.

Basically in conclusion due to Fox giving me said nervous twitch I'd much rather see his verses continue in movies. I think he'd probably be able to snag the original group easier that way and Buffy the Vampire Slayer couldn't be called Buffy if SMG wasn't Buffy and SMG left to do movies.

So let's bring on some Joss-verse movies. *awaits patiently*

Gotta be Angel, for me.

As others have already said, Buffy had the end it was meant to have so i'm okay with that show being over. Angel is still missing about 44 episodes, in my opinion.

Having said that, i'd rather they just went with a Spike show. For better or for worse, the last episode of Angel was something close to perfection and so bringing it back now might lessen the impact of Not Fade Away. Better to just start a third, all new series with a new lead.

I agree that Buffy "ended well" but I'd still like more please! Angel would require some Willow-level magic to bring back Wesley but I'm sure Joss could easily handle that, Fred...is her essence really gone or does she very much remain a part of Illyria? Gunn certainly could survive. I think the availability (and willingness) of SMG and David would ultimately determine the direction of any future Buffyverse shows and I would expect they'd require a REAL commitment from Fox or whomever. Obviously, a spin-off with any of the major characters would be great also, my favorites being Spike, Willow, Faith and Illyria/Fred.

It's not widely reported, but on the same website a few days later he said he was wrong. He got the wrong end of the stick. There's no new episodes planned, but they think 4 Direct-to-DVD features might happen.

When ANGEL ended I would have given pretty much anything to have it back. Now that DB is on another series that is really growing on me? I could live without tall, dark and forehead for now.

But a series involving Spike, Illyria, Xander and cameos by Faith and other 'verse characters? Count me in!

Buffy ended. It ended on just the right note. I don't feel the need to see more unless it is a big screen movie that blends Buffy and ANGEL together. That is what I want most of all. I want to see the 'verse do what Star Trek did - go from the small screen to the big screen and have multiple movies.

In an ideal world i'd like to see three or four DVD movies focusing on different characters from the slayerverse, preferably Spike, Giles, Willow and Illyria, all telling four different parts of one big story but with the emphasis of each individual part being on the title character.

This leads to a new series with either Spike as the lead or as the central character in a team based series. The show lasts approximately five years and culminates in a big cliffhanger that leads into a big screen Buffy/Angel/Spike movie trilogy extravaganza.

Y'know, in an ideal world, obviously.

As much as I'd love more Buffy, SMG quit so no use speculating on that. A spin-off of some kind would be nice but that wasn't an option. Of course I'd love more Angel but I'd want more Firefly before that and even a Buffy spin-off.

Well I'm torn. Not over choosing Buffy or Angel, 'cause that's a no-brainer (Angel all the way baby). No, I'm torn because, while I really want to see more Angel, I think that series had what may be the closest thing to a perfect ending any series has ever had.

*sigh* I vote for Angel, with the caveat that Angel himself not come back. Don't get me wrong, I loved the ol' grouch. But DB has a good new series and has shown no interest in continuing with a Whedonverse series. And I really think that the theoretical season six we're discussing should more-or-less continue the series but should pick up a bit AFTER the alley fight, with Angel missing and presumed dead (eaten by that dragon maybe?) and the others trying to carry on the "good fight" without him. Hell, Faith and Connor could both come back and be the two voice unwilling to just assume Angel was dead. Faith won't give up on him and Connor insists that he'd "know" if his father were dead.

This is actually an unfair poll, spreading the Whedon alumni fan base over three potential answers. It's like when an independent candidate is really liberal? And the democrat is a moderate liberal? The conservative republican could win by default because the opposition is split over the two other candidates. I hate it when that happens. That's not voter's rights. That's the Law of Averages. It means Futurama could win out by less dilution of its fanbase. I smell a rat. I think this poll is rigged. Dark Angel shouldn't even get a second glance. Remember Lot's wife.

Simon, yes and no. Clearly whatever the result of this poll ends up being it isn't going to officially confirm the return of any of the shows mentioned but every single time that one of these polls shows a massive majority favouring a Whedon show it can only help to prove that the audience isn't going away.

Certainly can't hurt the chances of seeing a new show happen.

Buffy's story isn't done. If it was I don't think that Joss would be planning on doing season 8 in comic form. Obviously he has more stories that he would like to tell through this show.

Has anyone even thought of continuing the Buffy saga through a new video game? As a gamer and lover of all things Buffy I've been DYING to know if they are ever going to do a third game!

I've been hoping for a new Buffy game announcemet, especially since getting the xbox 360. The graphics are amazing on it and I would love to see what they could do with a new Buffy game (or Angel or Firefly or all three!!). Video games would be a great way to continue on with the shows and you wouldn't have to worry about the actors aging!

Buffy: deader than Jenny Calendar (whose days were always numbered--I finally got the joke). Buffy the character would best remain in our memories as forever a girl-woman.
Angel: the series ended exactly as Wash did--in a zen-like moment of perfection. Don't mess with that. If the Buffyverse must be revisited, let it feature Spike and his own Scoobies: Andrew, Clem, and Miss Kitty Fantastico. Oh, and Oz, just for the wonderful chemistry he'd have with Spike.
Firefly: This show was television's savior, and Fox was Herod triumphant. Wonderful as Serenity is, film was just the wrong medium for such a character-rich entity. I want that ship in my living room, dammit, and I don't even let my friends in there.

I'm a little torn between Buffy and Angel. I guess i'd go with Angel, if only because Joss and Sarah made the choice to end Buffy whilst Angel was cancelled way too prematurely, even if it did have an amazing final episode.

If it was left entirely to me though i'd also choose to go with a Spike show. Big surprise there, huh! ;)

My opinion on this is so biased beyond repair, but I feel the need to contribute.

Joss is showbiz's second chance person. Think about it.

"Buffy" was originally a failed 1992 movie that most people didn't regard highly until it was brought back into a format for TV.

Firefly got cancelled and about a year and a half later a movie got made out of it.

See a pattern here?

The point is that the BIG stuff, the ORIGINALLY EXISTING stuff gets a second chance.

Ergo, the next logical comeback would be Angel.

But as far as I've seen, a lot of Whedon alumni already have new jobs etc.

But then again, maybe it's too early to be judging. Most of them have only been regulars on big network shows for 1 season and that isn't always a sign of guaranteed success.

The point is, if I saw Angel coming back I'd think it was going to be something BIG, and to be honest, it would really have to be because most of ATS's former actors are getting more recognition these days.

Which leads me to think that the only way for a continuation of it in a series/movie/whatever form would have to result with some of the better known actors not doing so well and their careers and then deciding to go back. As for me, I personally want them to do well in their careers regardless (they are awesome actors) but in terms of their return to the Whedonverse, this is the only possible way I could see it happen.

Ok, well anyway, that was depressing.

I think I'll go now.

I really like the sound of the multiple Buffyverse DVD movies which have been mentioned, they could be made in the summer hiatus when actors like Hannigan/Marsters are free

Possible cameos or supporting roles for any of the movies: Kate Lockley, Oz, Drusilla, The Groosalugg:

1) L.A. - Spike (supporting players: Illyria, Harmony, Andrew)
2) England - Ripper (supporting players: Willow, Xander)
3) Cleveland - Faith (supporting players: Spike and Andrew arrive in Cleveland from L.A., Robin Wood)

Better still give the Phantom Dennis his own movie. Boy that guy had some acting chops.

Buffy and Angel I could only see coming back as DVD movies. None of the leading actors would want to come back on full time basis and risk what success they have now. If they're thinking about some of the supporting players, I can see that.

I voted for Angel. I felt nice closure with Buffy, not with Angel. As awesome as NFA was...the message of never stop fighting...blah, blah, blah...ya I get that. I just want me some Angel loving. Since DB is doing really well on Bones (just got picked up for another season, yeah!) I don't see this happening. DB has stated that he would not automatically say no to a feature film if the script was good. SMG has said this too, but for some reason I believe DB more.

The "DVD movies focusing on specific characters" rumor has been floating around for at least a year. Man, I hope it happens! If I get to choose :) there would be 4 movies. First we have Spike then Ripper then Faith then Willow. Illyria is thrown in there somewhere just not her own movie.

Would love some kind of Buffyverse spin off. I would love a Firefly spin off probably more. Whedon on TV again would just be amazing. I predict he'll come back after WW is a huge hit at the box office. TV producers will be begging him to pitch his ideas. If only they loved and respected Joss as much as we do, huh?
