15/20. I'd say I know nothing but I just dunno ...
Was gonna say the correct answer's not a city but it's got a cathedral so it must be. Just always seemed too small to me (surely one of the smallest cities in the UK ?).
There was a quiz like this a few weeks ago where putting the mouse over the answers gave a link that had "true" and "false" in the code. That made it so much easier....
But Joss' favourite Harry Potter character? What skill he'd want as a doll?
I didn't know any of the personal-life ones--what city he's from, where he lived in England or how many kids he has.
Those ones I knew. But not in a stalkery way.
(didn't know who didn't have the trifecta or what he would be imprinted with - cos I haven't watched that DVD extra yet - or who his favourite Potter character is. Though I had a fair guess at that one ;)
And I used the combined might of Wikipedia, IMDB and random Googling and got ... 15/20 again. Which is confusing because I got solid answers on a lot of the ones I guessed at previously and really can't see what I got wrong on the rest.
So either the quiz is wrong, there's some sort of cookie madness going on so you can't go back and re-answer OR the internets know nothing (that last being too unsettling to seriously contemplate).
1. Innocence
2. 4 hours
3. Roseanne
4. Winchester
5. Hermione
6. David Greenwalt
7. The Office (hilarious ep!)
8. 22
9. Fray
10. Toy Story
11. New York
12. Mutant Enemy
13. To speak every language in the world
14. 2
15. The Alien franchise
16. Cloverfield
17. He directed it, plus wrote the script and the songs
18. X-Men
19. Waterworld (this one is probably wrong)
20. Gina Torres
The last one stumped me...as far as I can remember only Summer has been on 3 Joss shows (Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse), Gina and Amy have only been on 2 (both on Angel, Gina also on Firefly, Amy on Dollhouse). Is the question phrased incorrectly or am I forgetting something here?
As far as I know, neither Amy or Gina have been in more than two Joss productions. Am I wrong or is the question wrong??
I think Joss said Hermione was his favorite character back when the last book came out. And I'd like to take this opportunity to say that in certain pics, Jed looks like he could be an adult Ron.
16 out of 20 as well. I guessed on his hometown but I did know where he grew up so as long as that is what was meant, I got it right.
I did definitely have to guess how many episodes he directed.
Hasn't Joss said he'd like to be imprinted with both every language in the world AND piano-playing-like-with-fingers abilities? I could've sworn he's said both.
17/20. Than I looked them up and did it again and got 16/20. I would like to know the correct anwsers. I think Oxford got me a point while Winchester didn't.
Saje, I picked the "right" one, but wasn't the Pack listed as his favorite on the extra disc with the complete series box set? I could've sworn so.
Ah, maybe didifallasleep, wouldn't be surprised if he'd given different answers to that question at different times.
Sure wish I knew which one I got wrong! :-\
Pretty sure it's 4 sonyajeb (should be Winchester). I used to live about 20 minutes drive from the correct answer (and a friend went to the same school though not at the same time as Joss).
There definitely was an interview where Joss said he wanted to be able to speak every language. It was Boyd/Harry Lennix who wanted to play piano. So that's one question that Sci-Fi got wrong. Also - Joss has 2 kids - Arden and Squire so there's another question where the answer's wrong on the quiz. And he attended Winchester College in England. So that makes 3.
Joss said the piano thing on one of the Dollhouse DVD featurettes, I know that much. The same one where Jed wanted to play like Hendrix. So he's said both.
Yep, that exact wording. Later they comment that Joss might be a doll and Jed says "Whose fantasy is that ?" which made me smile cos only your brother can say that sort of shit and get away with it ;).
(or in other words, i've now watched that DVD extra ;)
Well, they got 4 wrong on the quiz, then. I just tried it out with the right answer instead of the one I originally put, keeping all my other answers the same, and it took me down to 18 instead of 19. :-\
This quiz definitely got some of the answers wrong!
Ah, well there was a video interview while Season 1 was airing where he said he wanted to be able to speak every language. Lennix said playing the piano. I thought the languages answer made perfect sense because Joss is all about verbal wordplay. That's why I remembered it. So it seems like that question has 2 correct answers there.
I re-took the quiz with the "wrong" 3 answers and got 19/20.
I got 17/20, by the way. And I legitimately missed where Joss went to school. "England" was about as specific as I could get. Maybe, on a good day, "Some school in England."
By trial by error I got 20/20. 19 was supposedly Wolverine. Quite funny how my fact checking hurt my results, not because I checked them with bad sources but because they hadn't checked their facts at all.
So that makes:
1. Innocence
2. 4 hours
3. Roseanne 4. Winchester (guessed this wrong "correct" anwser the first time around)
5. Hermione
6. David Greenwalt
7. The Office
8. 22
9. Fray
10. Toy Story
11. New York
12. Mutant Enemy 13. To play the piano like person with fingers (I also guessed this one "correctly" the first time around) 14. 1 (and this also was one of my initial guesses)
15. The Alien franchise
16. Cloverfield
17. He directed it, plus wrote the script and the songs 18. Wolverine
19. Waterworld
20. Gina Torres
By trial by error I got 20/20. 19 was supposedly Wolverine.
Ouch. That was one of the few I knew without even having to think about it first. No wonder I couldn't find the "wrong" answer, lol. I never would've thought to NOT guess X-Men!
I even tried Bad Robot or something like that for the production company. Some of these mistakes seem so silly you'd almost think they were made on purpose so they would get more hits out crazy fans trying to figure it out. (The lack of anwsers also fits with that.)
Ok...so one of my right answers was really wrong and one of my wrong answers was really right. So that all works out. Guess I should get back to work now.
So wait. How has Whedon worked with Amy Acker on three different projects? What's the third besides Angel and Dollhouse? I'm guessing for Summer it's supposed to be Angel, Serenifly and DH....
Got 11/20 first try. then 13/20, then I did some googling and got 17/20.
there were a few I guessed and others I just got confused.
I read the comments and see the quiz is broken.
I remember once a long time ago, Fox had a contest about the x files and like half the answers were wrong.
conclusion:do the research first.
I suppose that's one way to get you page count up. Run a lame quiz that gullible people like us take over and over trying to see what answers work out.
I didn't read the adverts, either. I think every time you don't read an advert an angel gets its wings.
Either that, or God kills a kitten. I can never keep it straight.
I do know that reading the adverts keeps time flowing in the proper direction - so if things start to get weird time-flow-wise ; > please try to forgive me.
I'm pretty sure Joss has said he would like to have the super power where he can speak any language (he mentioned the character of Cypher from the X-Men who was killed because it was the worst power to 'draw.') This was on either the box set bonus disc or the best buy bonus disc.
Yeh I got 17/20 too, so there are definately some mixed up answers in there. (Since I'm like an Ultimate!Fangirl and don't get this stuff wrong, usually.)
I didn't get ads, thanks to AdBlocker.
I got 17/20, but had 4 "wrong answers" according to the "correct answers" invisied above. Tried again, fixed 2 of them, but the "correct answer" for 18 wasn't available anymore (only 2 were there) so I picked the same as first time. I should have 2 wrong at this point. Got 17/20 again. It's not just that the answers are wrong...
Was Joss saying he wanted to speak any language maybe from the Dr. Horrible dvd?
Just checked, and this is indeed from Dr. Horrible. So omnilingualism would be Joss's preferred superpower, not imprint. Though it does seem to fit the imprint process better. And doesn't Boyd actually play the piano in Echoes?
And doesn't Boyd actually play the piano in Echoes?
I think Harry Lennix plays but he talks about wanting to be good enough to play Carnegie Hall on the DVD (though he also says if you can't remember it then what's the point IIRC).
I think 22 episodes directed is incorrect - imdb counts the unaired pilot (which wasn't even full-length) and Welcome to the Hellmouth, on which someone else was credited. Did he direct the whole episode?
I think there are other episodes in which he directed individual scenes, but they shouldn't count either.
