I didn't get the chance to watch this in context though, was this actually dropped in the middle of a different sequence?

Found that when I was searching for Emmy winners that didn't get aired.

EPIC. I saw pretty much everyone I wanted to win lose, with the exception of the Daily Show and Kristen Chenowith. Seriously, Dexter needs to be winning some awards. That shows too well written and acted to not be getting some awards. I'm sick of the Emmy's obsession with 30 Rock and Mad Men.
But NPH hosting, and especially the Dr. Horrible sequence; brilliant!

And (as I said on Twitter) huge Emmy fail for not having Andy Hallett in the memorial.

Very awesome. That and Kristin Chenoweth are the highlights. Otherwise, same old same old.

In hindsight I'm starting to wonder if maybe they had the time to shoot more than one of these in the event they hadn't won. Even if people suspect the award was created for their sake in the first place.

I think the latest stat is 30% of the US still has dial up. Probably not even 56k, either.
I have 8mbit broadband, live in the UK, and the first time I watched Horrible (officially, via Hulu) it buffered constantly.

Except that it was a joke about how brainless CSI and the spinoffs are. Wouldn't want to say that about Castle.
I enjoyed the Emmys this year. I was going to turn to Mad Men at 10, but instead stayed up to watch the second viewing.
Hey, darn you NPH for my lack of sleep!

Sidenote, wonder who were involved in the writing of this bit. Were all the 4 writers involved or just a handful of them? Did the Emmy writers get some say in it?

Was also really impressed with the NPH 'put down the remote' opening, especially the part where he goes through all the network options in quick succession: yikes. He must've been practicing that for quite some time.
Anyway: these were some nice things to watch when on lunch break (while working at home) :). Here's hoping even more Dr. Horrible finds its way to us soon.

Jewel Staite: "Go Neil Patrick Harris go! So brilliant! Was that Jason Bateman doing the Dr Horrible bit w/you? ( @NathanFillion FINGER!!)"
Nathan Fillion: "Jewel, as soon as I think of something really clever, I'm so gonna let you have it! ...and Morena is prettier than you. (finger in mouth)."
Oh Twitter, how I love thee.

Probably wasn't done because Castle is on ABC. They can reference CBS shows with no problem (hence NPH plugging HIMYM at one point), but I imagine CBS would have frowned upon any promotion of another network's show.
NPH was fantastic last night, though...one of the bet Emmy ceremonies in a while.

Thank you so much to everyone who put it on YouTube so that we, the shiny country that would have been gifted to dear Penny once Dr Horrible's world-ruling plot succeeded, could enjoy it's genious.

Maurissa just confirmed that it was written by the usual suspects of the Whedon clan plus one of those newer Tancharoen Whedon types :).

Hmm, Dr. Horrible just won an Emmy and now there is new material. Seems like the perfect time to release a Blu-ray version.

NPH was great throughout though. I want to see everything without any edits now.

30 Rock is very good but The Office is far better - it doesn't have the flash of the winning show, but in addition to being hilarious it's a complex and emotionally rich show.
Mad Men is about as good as The Sopranos; it makes other TV look sloppy and juvenile.
