I'm more inclined to believe that Season 5 Wesley would take apart Giles. Giles may be pretty handy with a chainsaw, but Wes has a shotgun.

But even thinking about the two teams fighting each other is making me sad.

This list makes no sense... it includes all the time periods? Then why not have Angel and Spike on both teams, all of the new Slayers on Buffy's team and give Angel and co. all of Wolfram and Hart? If you're gonna have an epic what if brawl, it needs rules, and this one is sadly lacking.

And indeed, while Giles is awesome and my favorite of the Scoobies, Season 4 or 5 Wesley would beat him, since shotgun generally beats medieval weaponry (though it is cooler), bare hands (again, cooler)... though less likely magic (less cool, which is why I assume he doesn't often use it).

Those match-ups are fairly lame. Buffy vs. Angel sure as hell wouldn't go that way. If Angel thinks he's right, he'll have no problem fighting Buffy (see 5 by 5/Sanctuary). Also I want Willow vs. Illyria and Cordy vs. Anya. Makes much more sense. I agree that medieval weapons and hand to hand is much more awesome than guns, but Wes makes shotguns awesome!

Tara vs Gwen? that makes no sense and Dawn vs Doyle? that fight wouldn't be fair at all. But I would like to see Gunn and Riley in a fight. That would be cool.

I agree Nolan, Wesley got much tougher and Rupert got weepy and misty eyed by seasons 5 and 7 respectively. Wesley wins that fight.

And how is the Xan-man going to take Lorne out? Lorne can take a beheading in stride while Xander just gets a lot of concussions.

BTW--any of you ever count how many times Xander has been knocked unconscious? I tried to count once but I never made it past calculus.

I'd rather see a D'Hoffryn vs Glory throw down. Or maybe The Gentlemen vs. Olaf the Troll. I can see it now...The Gentlemen are all smiley with their scalpels and golf-claps and then WHAM! SPLAT; Troll hammer to the melon.

Well, they have a good point that Buffy beat Angelus. I've always assumed that in a real no-holds-barred fight, Slayer beats Vampire most times. Advantage, Buffy.

Willow v. Illyria is interesting. Although that's the problem with magic, isn't it? It hasn't really got any predictable range or scope. If, for story purposes, Willow needs to be a serious threat to end the world, then she is. If she needs to be taken prisoner by a mere human, then she is. She beats Illyria if the writers want it, she doesn't if they don't. There's no real "probabilities" here.

My bias is showing big time here, but I don't particularly care. Wesley beats 'em all. He's the Batman of the Buffy/Angelverse.

Having said that I really loathe these blank vs. blank lists.

I believe I have some of those content saved somewhere, including the "rumoured" titles and descriptions.

I've often thought it would've been hilarious if the Ben to Glory and Glory to Ben switches were not so instantaneous. Like there was a brief period of overlap where both characters had consciousness--kind of like Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin in All of Me.

Then my request for a Ben vs. Glory fight would seem less implausible and much more with the funny. (Can you picture the actors attempting it?? lol)

I like your match ups Mysteryshadesman. Here are my predictions based on those pairings.

1. Illrya would win against Willow. Although I hate to say it, Illyria doesn't initially have much of a conscience to get in the way of her destroying everything. Willow had feelings enough for Xander to talk her out of burning the world.

2. If Cordy and Anya are without powers, I feel Cordy would win. She actually develops her fighting skills with Angel's help in Angel Season Three. The only thing Anya would be able to do is shoot sarcastic remarks.

3. Angel would take Spike. IMHO Angel is just smarter than Spike.

4. Buffy takes Faith. No questions there. She does a pretty good job it at the end of Buffy season with a substantial stabbing in the gut whilst on a roof top.

I kinda get the feeling this list is sort of biased against Angel Investigations. There's no way Giles would win against Wesley, IMO (after season four, I think it was obvious that Wesley was more than willing to be utterly ruthless, surpassing even Giles' penchant badassery), and I think Gunn would wipe the floor with Riley, gadgets or no (experience wise, Gunn beats Riley out by years). The Tara vs. Gwen is just ridiculous, because 1) Tara is almost never shown using magic, and what she does use isn't particularly offensive, and 2) Gwen is more than willing to kill, something I don't believe Tara would do. And as far as Spike and Faith goes, I think Spike would be just as likely to sit the whole thing out and see which side wins.

I agree with you deepgirl187 - he'd probably pull out a packet of ciggies and a drink. Maybe even watch Passions if he got bored! Although if he did choose to fight, it might be a draw with Faith. If not, slayer beats vampire.

Illyria would thrash Anya! She's a Primordial demon who can warp time and what not - she wiped the floor with Spike!

Yes, but Angel later beat Spike as a *puppet*. He didn't have much trouble subduing Spike at the end of "Power Play" either, and that was with the rest of the gang against him too. The opera house was the only time out of their many onscreen fights where Spike was the clear winner.

Just my opinion, but I think that Xander and Lorne wouldn't fight; they'd head to the nearest bar for drinks. Xander would have a beer and Lorne would have a Seabreeze and they would compare notes about terrible parents.

Buffy Vs. Angel = Buffy
Willow Vs. Illyria = Willow (Making the assumption Illryia can't walk through time)
Robin Wood Vs. Wesley = Wesley
Spike Vs. Faith = Spike
Xander Vs. Cordelia = Cordelia
Anya Vs. Lorne = Anya
Riley Vs. Connor = Connor
Giles Vs. Gru = Giles
Tara Vs. Gwen = Gwen
Oz VS. Nina = Oz
Andrew Vs. Gun = Gun
Dawn Vs. Doyle = Dawn (I don't think Doyle could hit a girl.)
