This should be in spoilers, I'd think. Just in case.

That said, I hope it's Maurissa by herself, and not Maurissa and Jed. Don't misinterpret that, it's not that I dislike them together (since the only time I've seen it, it was wonderful). I'm just super-curious as to how she writes on her own. Same with Jed, actually.

Nice. I didn't even know about this site, very helpful to see a small, not very spoilery synopsis of the first two eps on there, since we've all got fears about what Joss's had to change. I actually like the pacing of no one meeting and the self-awareness not beginning for an episode.

And I had to add Felicia Day to the "Hat Tricks" section, cuz they forgot about her (they accept anyone who's been in more than one Joss show).

"Hat trick" wasn't "more than one". It was "in all three". I don't know how it's interpreted now.

Any reason why Maurissa doesn't get a last name on that page?

ETA that the argument for it being marked spoiler is that its a link to a page that will possibly contain spoilers. Internal links on that wiki to the episode pages are in fact marked spoiler on the wiki itself.

Man on the Street is the correct title, not a clue about the writer and director.

Though the title spoiler issue is rendered moot whenever the reader waves their mouse over the link.

The director is right, the writer I'm not entirely sure of (I wrote the majority of that Wiki page) hence putting TBC next to the writer name.

Happy to see David Solomon's name on some of those episodes. I knew he was reported to be involved but 2/5 in the first batch so far is pretty cool.

Well, aside from Johnathan Woodward and David Fury, I can't think of anyone who has been in three or all four Joss Whedon shows before the cameras in different roles. So, maybe a "hat trick" can be two shows in this case.

But the term is borrowed from the sports term, which is defined based upon the number three. The entire point was that it's rare. We can't just redefine the term to (1) disassociate it from the term being borrowed and (2) undo the point of being rare.

While it is great to see Solomon's name attached to some of these early episodes, I do hope that the show allows a range of undiscovered directors to have a shot at some of the key episodes in this batch, and doesn't solely rest of the laurels of the wealth of talent developed by previous shows. I'm sure that's not going to be the case, I'm just saying I wouldn't mind seeing some other names attached. Early days, though.

impalergeneral, you're forgetting Carlos Jacott, who was a demon in Buffy, a half-demon in Angel, and a Fed in the pilot (original pilot) of Firefly.

And there's a third. An actor, I forget his name, was the doctor who could detach body parts in a terrible episode of Angel, an Alliance captain in Firefly, and someone else I've forgotten in Buffy.

When was David Fury in Firefly?

That's Andy Umberger. He was D'Hoffryn in Buffy as well as the roles you mentioned. There's also Jeff Ricketts and Bob Fimiani.

David Fury wasn't in Firefly but he was in Dr Horrible, so it is three, just not the original three.

Yep, hat trick is definitely 3 shows and I would think 3 characters, which is why Eliza herself doesn't count, despite what the wiki says. We have just been too polite (so far) to remove the obvious errors.

I don't know that we get to decide what's a hat trick. Isn't that a term Joss picked up for actors appearing in multiple shows? Seems like it's his call how he's using it once he's got 4 shows on tv. Although I will note that the sports usage seems to be sufficiently complicated for ongoing discussion. ;)

She'd be a hat trick +1 if you count the buffy-bot (which just seems silly). Joss uses the term in one of the DVD commentaries - possibly serenity, the Firefly pilot.
