Agreed, Knuckleball! I would have liked to have seen the writing acknowledged for Gilmore Girls as well. And Kelly Bishop's performance as Emily.

More pertinent to the subject of Buffy, I feel like the list of snubs is too exhaustive to actually go into but I particularly would have liked to see The Body and Once More With Feeling recognized as two brilliant hours of television.

I think along with the Emmys' plan to show the best dramatic and comedy performances ever, how about setting aside time to apologize to all the TV shows they ignored during nomination time, maybe because they "lost" the nomination reels. Buffy, Angel, Veronica Mars, the WB, Gilmore Girls, Battlestar Galactica (for acting) and The Wire can top the list. Of course, it would also double the length of the show.

I've already made my feelings known about this subject in that other topic about voting for show scenes to be aired during September's Emmy Awards show. But I can just imagine a conversation afterwards at dinner between a couple of suits, should Buffy be chosen in the Drama category:

"You know, I sort of wish now I had voted to nominate Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the acting categories while it was on the air."

"I know what you mean. I thought it was just a silly teen show until I saw that scene tonight. And my daughter is always talking about how great it was."

How about some humble pie to wash down that crow you're eating?
