Well, technically, he didn't kill Kitty. He just... kind of... left her in a giant bullet speeding out into space, with little or no hope of rescue. But she wasn't actually dead last time we saw her. So that's... something, right?

Besides, as the 1st rule of superhero comics states: 'if you don't see a body'...

(And oftentimes, even if you do).
