More from Joss on Dollhouse's new first episode.
As told to TV Barn last Friday.
Sounds like the MP3 file cuts out towards the end but there's some interesting talk to be had.

EDIT: I don't like "simple". I'd rather take several episodes to cover the intro. I guess we should blame short attention spans (of which I'm guilty) and the need for complete first impressions.

There's a lot of 'I' in the MP3 snippet and that's a good sign to me, it really seems like a lot of the impetus came from Joss (even if it might have been at Fox's initial request - but like I say on t'other thread, helping him make a hit is good for all of us, so long as it's still, y'know, Whedonesque ;).

And since different clients have different kinds of fantasies they want to live out, and (I'm guessing) that one way Echo is going to learn is by feeling the contradictions among all the roles she plays, the story really can start anywhere. Including with a duet between her and a client whose fantasy is to have someone sing "Some Enchanted Evening" to him while fully believing that she is Mary Martin in South Pacific and has just met the man of her dreams. (Though that would kind of suck.)

Gotta goes with the eye-bulge and sly-smile of "zombie slaves". Yea, yea, I've seen it before, but it's been a while. :)
A thousand times this. She's wonderful and I love her already.

Am I just confused, or are others who, like Madhatter here, expressed a hope/desire to see the original first episode eventually?
As I understand it from this little interview and from Joss's "interview," we are going to see the original first episode. It will be the second episode shown in January. Isn't this correct?
It's not as if the already-shot episode (which is now apparently being called the first of two "pilots" even though before we were told that the show had no pilot) is just going to disappear, right?

So long as he actively hates having viewers, it's a winner.
(and AFAIK, skydiving, climbing etc. have always been in the mix - they've certainly been in the trailer from the start, though maybe not from the pilot)

Variety
Eonline
TV Guide
The Variety piece quotes a Fox executive. Who are the viewers who are confused, I wonder? Have they brought in test audiences?
The Variety piece also characterizes whedonesque as Joss's blog. Hah. A common mistake, apparently.

I dunno, aren't those, like, synonyms for plodding and pedestrian ?
(I kid, some variations are great. Like 1. ... c5. Surprise, i'm still kidding ! ;-) Seriously, I just went for it because it's seen to be dull, honest ;)
