Is this show worth buying on DVD? I've considered buying it for awhile now but I'm afraid it ends on too much of a cliff hanger... after I finished the second season of Popular I was really sad for quite awhile... :(
The show is really not that great until the tail end of the first season. That's when it starts to show some promise, and what's there of the second season is also interesting. I don't remember whether there was an actual cliffhanger or not, but it definitely ends with lots of unresolved issues.
Polter-Cow, Can you give me some examples of other canceled shows that ended on a similar tone or situation?
Like Surface, Dark Angel, and Millennium, for example. When it ends everything has changed. The rules are different but you get the sense that the main characters are going to make it.
Or Veronica Mars. It ends with a sense of melancholy but you kinda of feel like things have been wrapped up pretty well.
Or Harsh Realm. It feels unfinished.
Tru Calling was definitely left unfinished...season 2 comes with an unaired episode which if I recall, is HUGE to the story and the show--it made me really sad to know there would be no resolution, but I really like this show regardless. Some episodes were not as good as they could of been, but overall I really enjoyed this show--especially the cast which I thought had fantastic chemistry.
The complete series has already been released in R2
