Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's run on Astonishing X-Men concludes in his double-sized issue where the Breakworld must be stopped from destroying Earth.

There are three trade paperbacks collecting the first 18 Whedon/Cassaday issues of Astonishing X-Men, korkster, and a fourth will collect the last six issues plus the Giant-Size Annual.

The Giant-Size Annual- will that be the paperback of paperbacks? I.e., will it include the previous three (four) trade paperbacks?

The Giant-Size Annual will be its own separate Giant-Size event before it and the last six issues are compiled into a TPB, making a total of four TPBs in all. I don't know whether they're wrapping all 25 issues into a Gimungous-Size TPB or hardcover, but if they do, it may be my favorite graphic novel. Heck, Dickens made novels that way..

I've added the Marvel and CBR links to the entry. And regarding the hardcover, the first one was issues 1-12 so I would imagine the second one will collect issues 13-24 plus the annual.

He could nudge it slightly off course so it zooms by earth. It would be like a Cylon version of "The Gift." The hardest thing to do in this world, Humungou-bullet, is to live in it, especially after killing zillions of people.

ETA: Fanfic challenge: What has the sentient Sentinel been up to? I think it's been sitting in a basement talking to itself, then going to bars alone.

There could be that heartbreaking melody in the background for the invisibled part, Pointy.... and it could come in handy for a montage of the broody bar scenes.

Personally I think the Sentinel has been sitting on a beach somewhere contemplating walking in and letting the rust slowly do it in. But at some point it decided it has a new purpose.

No doubt this series will go into an oversized hardcover. It's going to be amazing to see Cassaday and Martin's work on this book in a single hardcover edition.

Anyone know what Cassaday is doing after this?
