Ah, through the magic of the telephone!
Also, I will be his butler. I'm not old or English but I would wait on him hand and foot. If he would sing for me. That's all I'd ask for, NPH singing to me.

No, no, course not ... everyone back away, sloowwwllyyy.
"Mike Romeo" would work for both a doll and a hard-boiled detective.

Still, I hope it goes up in good quality. It'd be a shame to see it go at youtube-quality.
Does anyone have idea what the business model is for this? Is it going online for free, with donations -- a Radiohead-like thing, "pay what you want". Or is it going to be something we have to buy, or what?

I want Dr Horrible N O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O W!
I think its past my bed time

the only person checking YouTube and the official site every few hours to see if a trailer is there
I rely on you for that, Simon. I just check whedonesque every few hours. Or so.

I didn't post it because he didn't mention Dr. Horrible, but it's a fun listen. He talks about how he ended up playing himself in "Harold and Kumar..."

I was checking daily for awhile. I am about 5 days clean of my "must check for Dr. Horrible is it up yet" habit.
I missed that "Wait, wait" episode, barboo! Thanks for pointing that out.
Sunfire | April 25, 16:26 CET
I'm pretty sure Joss said it would go online for free viewing. I'd find the quote if I wasn't madly late for work, and if my name were "QuoterGal."
Ah, crap, it is.
Well, trust me on this this once. It was in one of the recent links about "monetizing." Whatever ultimately happens with the "Dr. Horrible" productions, they would initially be online for free - like "The Guild."
QuoterGal | April 25, 17:16 CET
All us "Wait, Wait..." fans should email and suggest they get Joss to do "Not My Job". That might even top the "Animal Planet" veterinarian with a phobia to spiders, which was laugh 'til you cry funny.
barboo | April 25, 17:30 CET
I sort of vaguely surmise this might be more up Jane Espenson's alley.
Sunfire | April 25, 18:02 CET
Must we do this in every single NPH-related thread? It can't possibly still be seen as original or clever.
theonetruebix | April 25, 18:17 CET
Yes. Like cute lil kittens, it's something I will never tire of. Besides it's fun.
Simon | April 25, 18:48 CET
I love cute lil kittens. Probably couldn't eat a whole one though.

People could be splitting it between multiple posts for maximum lulz.
I may start a "Suit Up !" faction Sunfire. I reckon given about 14 centuries I could probably have people killing each other over it.
Saje | April 25, 19:09 CET
!Kittens! It's what's for dinner!
QuoterGal | April 25, 19:12 CET
Saje | April 25, 19:16 CET
And, strangely, I do feel like gobbling them up.

I don't know if I could eat kittens, having just recently read that All Kittens Have Asperger's. It's the kind of cute book that only education majors buy. I didn't...it was a friend's! Really!
Someone should manufacture Kitten Bites, much like the Shark Bites fruit snacks of yore. Now that's some good licensing.
BandofBuggered | April 25, 21:07 CET
We already know that kittens have a good monetary value. Especially the Siamese. :)
How did we get to Kittens again?

Sunfire | April 25, 21:15 CET
Yeah! The Adventures of Dr. Horrible & Kitten Disaster!
:)
korkster | April 25, 21:18 CET
14 centuries? Sheesh, Saje you're off your game today. I wouldn't expect it to take more than 20 years - 30 tops if you're not trying hard.
barboo | April 25, 21:22 CET
NPH does inspire one to think about kittens; I think it's his bone structure. Perhaps because he's spry like a cat. Mmmm. *shakes head roughly*
Yes, Shark Bites were gummies (my family called them fruit snacks. Then again, we call all soft drinks "coke" regardless of label.)
Another good evil kitten name? "Siamevil", or "The Persian Punisher". Nathan's kitten could be named the "Calico Crusader."
Oh dear God. Back to homework.

Speaking of fun, NPH sounds like a great guy. He loves Joss's work, he's enthusiastic, he's clever (I, too, heard him on NPR's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me the other weekend.) He comes off as a funny, snarky guy but not of the offputtingly I'm-so-much-better-than-you variety of snarky. I can't wait to hear and see him belt those "catchy" tunes out. I want a Dr. Horrible soundtrack! I want the sheet music! Yes! (And I still want a collected tunes of Lorne CD to come out, which I have long thought should be called "Songs for the Love, Lorne." I don't remember anymore if I made that up. Probably not.)
One more thing: I love Nathan Fillion as much as the next person - maybe more - but I can't help rooting for poor Dr. Horrible to stop being beaten up by our Nathan. At least I think I'm rooting for Dr. H. We shall see.
Anyone think that Dr. Horrible will also be downloadable via iTunes or some other service?
phlebotinin | April 25, 22:42 CET
Scott Allie alluded to something on the final page of the next issue of Buffy, too. Knowing Buffy, I would not be surprised if we saw something like a smaller round of the fan reaction to Issue 12 in May.
Sunfire | April 25, 22:53 CET
Wait, if April is the calm before the storm, what's with that "April showers bring May flowers" adage? Unless we consider Joss some sort of pilgrim in the world of entirely new, awesome entertainment.

Why? Because of the complete lack of info on Dr Horrible!
Plus the overuse of exclamation marks!!
Yes, like this!!!!
Sheesh, already.
