Just for clarification, is this Joss' new show or Eliza's new show? It was Eliza's deal and Joss' idea, or does it matter?.
Or am I just chasing my own tail? (No it's not a real tail.) Either way, I will still watch.
I love Paul Campbell from his role in the pilot of "Nobodies Watching," which is brilliant and available for free on YouTube.
I don't know these Ian Anthony Dale or Brennan Elliot people, but looks like they've done a lot of TV work, so good on them. I still have to say hooray for Paul before them though, because I actually know some of his work and enjoy it quite a bit.
Ok! He is very very pretty. I'm on board with the Brennan Elliot-ness. And not safe for work is absolutely right. I have never watched Cold Case. That might have to change. Are there any other redeeming qualities to that show?
Meh- there's such a thing as too pretty (Brendan Elliot). I am excited about Paul Campbell though, I too loved him on BSG. I wonder when and how a casting announcement will be made - I'm impatiently waiting. :)
Oh. My. I'll be in that bunk too, ok? Sure, it's getting awfully crowded in here. The more the merrier, I guess. :) Gosh. Where was I? Right. Acting.
Brennon is more of a hunk and would be well suited for the part if it was tending towards the romantic side, I guess. Ian has more of an edge, at least what I can judge from the pictures. I'm not sure if that's a good thing though. :) I would certainly not cast them both, because they look so similar.
And as much as I loved Paul on BSG, I don't see a young DeNiro in him. But I have been said to be wrong once in a while. And I love surprises.
I'm glad Joss is going to cast. He has an eye for sweet guys. Let's just hope they can act better than certain hunks on Buffy/Angel.
Neither did I. And I think the only actors who can rightly be labelled as hunks on both shows are DB and Marc Blucas, neither of which ever disappointed me in the acting department.

Hello, ever hear of James Marsters, Alexis Denisof and J. August Richards?
They're not hunks in the "beefcake" sense generally tied to the word, they're very good-looking and attractive, but not physically built to fill the hunk imagery IMO. That's what I meant.
I don't think it would be unfair to say that David Boreanaz was not that strong of an actor in the first season of "Buffy". In fact, while I'm too lazy to go looking for it, I'm pretty sure the man has said as much himself.
He became a much better actor over the course of working with great talents like Joss, but also Aly and Sarah (anybody still have a link for that Armin Shimmerman interview where he said he walked onto the set thinking he'd show the kids a thing or two, but that they quickly were showing him about acting?).
Sufficed to say that Joss could grab some dudes off the street, and as long as he's got great writers (he does) and a couple of very talented actors as lynchpins (he has one already), they're going to do great.
I didn't want to start a flame war with that comment, sorry.
Huh? I have never had a problem with the acting from most of the hunks or hunkesses on BtVS/AtS.
Looking at season 1 of Buffy, I'd rate DB as a hunk without much acting skills. That is my personal feeling though, others can feel differently about his talent.
DB gained a lot through Buffy/Angel and finally, Bones, when he finally started to take acting lessons. ;)
I haven't read any of the casting sides, but I assume the auditions for the dolls will have them going through a wide range of characters/emotions to make sure they can, yes? That was the idea behind making the role for Eliza. Since she's got mad skillz, yo.

Well I haven't seen any casting sides for Echo yet but over at io9 they have some pages up that are being used to cast the doll Sierra that show her in three very different situations so it looks like you're right about that.

Unless Joss is thinking about double crossing Eliza and replacing her I doubt we'll see any Echo casting sides. And since this started with Eliza's deal with the studio and she got Joss involved I doubt he could even do that if he (in some bizzaro world) wanted to.

Wow it took them forever to get ahold of those. Haven't a bunch of us been reading these for like a week now? Heh.
(And, really, they got them from Spoiler TV anyway, as they credit at the bottom.)
