Whedonverse actors have a 'striking' take on the current situation in Hollywood.
Three veteran 'verse actors, Camden Toy - Gentleman/Gnarl/Ubervamp on "Buffy" and Prince of Lies on "Angel; Bonita Friedericy - Cordelia's dress shop boss on "Buffy" and Jasmine's assistant Patience on "Angel"; and John Billingsley - werewolf expert Dr. Royce on "Angel" (and also Dr. Phlox on "Star Trek: Enterprise"), show us some entertainingly simple solutions to the WGA strike.

Cotton-buds are clearly the answer, maybe we should've bought those instead of pencils ? Nice little sketch that, the bit about not just giving up their nothing brought a grin ;).

And apropos of nothing but the strike, I note that someone not me won Joss' drunk-dial crying phone call prize for the most Whedony-pencils purchased from the "Pencils to Media Moguls Campaign." From their site :
Joss Whedon – Grand Prize Winner - Markus Strobl
Joss Whedon – Runner up - Samantha Boyette
I think I should have won a prize for most artistic and peculiar pencil buying - I mean, I even bought pencils for ANDREW: The Musical, fer cryin' out loud, so I think I deserve an Honorable Mention for Being the Pencil Buyer With The Mostest Odd Sense of Humor. (But I did dilute my chances of winning by doing this, and by buying pencils for other shows, curse my eclectic, BSG-loving heart.)
Ah, hell, it's sure been a long strike so far... I think I'll go now and keep trying to learn iMovie to make a video for this here STRIKE TV: Hollywood Unplugged campaign. You can teach an old dog new tricks, but it's sure harder than it used to be...

BUT...
Let's not kid ourselves now..
The strike is a good cause..
but the PTBs (corporations) are going to use this as an opportunity to screw us--
The signs are already there...
... few pilots...
... some will be going on "guts"..
... more backdoor pilots (crappy made for TV movies that somehow can translate into a show... yeah I'm old enough to remember just how well THAT worked in the 70s and 80s...CRAP CRAP CRAP..)
add to that .. the economy is going to shit...
and what are we going to have...is...
Corporations handing us Old-School crappy TV again, reality shows, "sure-thing" series--which almost alwayts translates into Lowest Common Denominator Crap...etc...
Yes...whatever golden age of TV was here for a while... is almost surely dead.
The corporations are going to screw us (the public) and the writers ... HARD...
Writers...F**K HOLLYWOOD... Go Indie...They are no one without you.
