Actually, I kind of did mean it as a reflection on Nick. He just came across as really embittered to me. It's hard to tell tone from text, though, and there wasn't any context given as to that.

I asked him how the con went, and he said he was "happy as a clam." I think sometimes it's more of a contextual thing.

Not sure if Nick is being serious or not, but in his latest audioblog, he apologizes to Chicago fans for not having attended the dessert event at the Creation Con; according to Brendon, he went to it, but was "accosted" by security and asked to leave, but gives no other details. However, he says it in such a tongue and cheek manner, I can't be sure if he means it or not.

jUST CHECKED imdb and I know we aren't a gossip site but it gave the marriage dates as Sept '01 to present with divorce action filed....

Shiai;Yeah, I mean technically it isn't any of our business but, well David was amrried to Wife # 1 beofre he started on BtVS I think and Emma 's and Iyari 's first amrriages were over before they started but this is the first "durign the run of the show marriage" to break up and to us as fans, well, let's say it hits us in our imaginations.

Yeah, unfortunately he was serious. During the concert on Saturday night Nick showed up toward the end. The back of the room was already setup for the dessert party. Fans weren't aware of it, but Jensen and Jared from Supernatural were sitting back there watching the concert. There were about five security guards wearing "Event Staff" jackets standing near them. I don't know for sure but I believe they were off-duty cops.

Nick and his assistant were let into the auditorium by Creation staff and then they headed to the back. Before they got close to Jensen and Jared they were stopped by security. Nick spoke to one of the guards and told him who he was and tried to keep going. He was quickly surrounded by all of the guards and things started to get a little heated. The Creation staff at the door did not come over to assist. Finally Nick turned and left, taking of his coat and tie very pissed off.

Adam, the head of Creation, was up near the stage with one female security person that I see at all of the cons. I told him "Um I'm not sure if you're aware but your security people just kicked out Nick Brendon...". He looked at me and then turned back to the concert. The female staffer turned to me and said "Yeah". A bit confused I went back to my seat.

About five minutes later Nicks' assistant came back to talk to the security guards and the female staffer also came over. She then proceeded to tell him that she was unaware of the situation (that I had just told her about) and tried to smooth things over.

I was extremely embarrassed for Nick and really upset with the way Creation dismissed him. It was ridiculous.

swanjun, as those are not direct quotes, we can't be sure of the way they were said. I agree that reading the linked article, Nick sounds somewhat bitter about his role during the end of Buffy, but they could just as easily have been playfull remarks. I'm going with that for now, since there's no reason to believe Nick has any real grudges against the show (other parts of this Q&A also show how much he respects Buffy and the writers, after all).

Sounds like the Creation con staffers and security team were a bunch of morons. I hope their ineptitude doesn't dissuade Nick Brendon or other Buffy alumni from participating in future conventions!

If things did unfold as Scott describes them, then it's all the more ridiculous that security didn't recognize him, seeing as how there were HUGE banners with his face plastered across them in that very ballroom.

You know, if Joss wanted to do a show centered about Xander, I think we'd all be there, including Nick. The Zeppo showed Nick could carry a show. He played the average person who gets stuck in weird situations and somehow comes out mostly okay, and we can all relate to that.

I miss Xander. Nick played him so well. Nice to hear his voice on the blog. I wish the very best for him!
