(SPOILER) Buffy #8 cover revealed. Very intense Jo Chen artwork. This third part of Brian K. Vaughan's Buffy season 8 arc "No Future For You" will be out on November 7th.

Not necessarily. It could be the Buffy decoy assigned to be murdered by Faith.

Or "Faith" could be the imposter ;-)...Whatever the explanation, Jo Chen's covers have been consistently brilliant and it is great to see them so long before the publication date - helps build up the pleasurable anticipation.

I would love to see Dark Horse release a coffee table book of the season 8 covers. Some of the best comic book covers I have ever seen.

My god, that's a fantastic cover. Joan Chen is incredible.

However, if I read the accompanying blurb right, are we rewinding to Buffy-as-Faith's-nemesis bit? Didn't their relationship grow a bit during the last episodes of Season 7? Didn't they have a rapprochement? I know they didn't become best buddies or anything, but why would they be nemeseseseses (heh) again? That could be tiresome, unless done well. Okay, I'm talking myself out of worrisome prognostications. Brian K. Vaughan and Joss? It'll be done well. Can't wait for this Faith arc to start.

These type of blurbs can be misleading.I wonder if Buffy showing up blows Faith's cover as it were and that's what this write up is hinting at.That Faith has to pretend to be evil to get in good with this bad slayer.

That is beautiful artwork, and I wouldn't draw too many conclusions, it could just be a dream sequence (a nightmare of Faith's or Buffy's?).

I wonder if Jo Chen is a fan of old horror comics because this cover really reminded me of the iconic cover to the old EC comics Crime SuspenStories #19.

Buffy canon deserves no less than this type of stunning artwork! Can't wait to read the story.

This Faith arc looks to take some dark turns indeed. Or to feature wacky dreamscape fun. Either way, I await the issues. And more importantly the spoilery previews that will precede them. And the chocolate.

Chocolate not included? That's ok, I can bring my own.

I must be the only one who would love to see Faith and Buffy kick the crap out of each other again. They did get past the "kill on sight" phase of their relationship, but, I don't recall them ever making it to friendly. They were at more of a co-worker level with each other at the end of 7, with Faith more loose about the whole thing than Buffy was.

But when you have superpowers, fighting isn't all that big a deal. If you hit a normal person really hard, you can seriously hurt or even kill them. If you hit Faith or Buffy really hard, you just make them mad. In comic books, throwing someone through a wall seems to be the equivalent of witty banter in other media.
