Joss, you should ask Summer to record it (and possible variations) for your cell phone ringtone. (Like when Steven Tyler asked Liv to record a message for his aswering machine in elvish)
Okay, that's just disturbing. Back to work now.
Ok, that actually looks pretty good. And it's also got the cheerleader's friend from Heroes in it. Am I insane to give Fox one more chance to disappoint me?
I said it on the other thread where this was linked, but I'll say it again: It's so hard to keep hating Fox when they have stuff like this. Summer is the rockingest.
ooooo. I am so excited to see Summer again..and as a Terminator, thats just dang cool.
I'm with you Toast. I'll bandage up my heart and get all into this one too.
Every time I look forward to a new show, it gets cancelled, doesn't matter what it is, but it's cancelled. The only exception in the past few years is BSG. I think the cancellation thing is somehow directly related to how much I look forward to a show.
So I'll make a supreme sacrifice here - - I WON'T watch the Sarah Connor Chronicles even though I'm dying too. Then it'll run for at least a season, probably more. Everybody can thank me later if this plan works :-)
Eh... it looks like crap to my eyes. Having an actor who seems more at home in a DTV Seagal flick trying to imitate Arnold is a bad idea. Dude looked awful.
John and Sarah look pretty bad, too.
Maybe I'm just rating it against the films too much.
My guess is it won't be cancelled early. It's a popular franchise and looks like appealing to a mainstream audience, so should get decent viewing figures if it's even half good. Plus, Fox probably paid a lot for the franchise rights, so they have an incentive to give it a fair chance.

Plus, they also gave DB a great steady job, "Bones", must be the only procedural drama that I really, really enjoy.
But it's also so easy to start hating them again, when they cancel a beloved show two seconds after it debuted. Now they need to find a steady job for Nathan.

And they got that pretty lady from "300" as the lead, and that kid from "Heroes", plus Summer. Hopefully it will run the whole season, cause it's looking quite neat.
"Cameron Phillips (Summer Glau) is a girl who attends school with John. She is also a Terminator, but an unknown model from the year 2027. She is programmed to protect John Connor. Her abilities have not yet been revealed but, apparently she can eat food."
Nice homage on the first name, but I wonder what the last name might refer to? The closest I get with Google is a Nick Phillips who was a camera tech on T3, according to IMDB.
Otherwise -- lovely, and intriguing, trailer. It was painful to read all the haters on the video comments; I want to send everyone who thinks Summer can't sell this a copy of SERENITY, and tell 'em to watch her fight scenes.
I'm not worried about "changes"; that's what happens with every genre flick, and shouldn't affect the success (recall the uproar over the "organic web-shooters" from the early rumors on the first Spiderman flick? Yea, that choice hit the bottom line bad, it did...)
The core issue is, will crap blow up cool? Well, that and will the core man vs. machine issues, parallel to the extremely dysfunctional Connor family and their issues, be the driver(s) behind the series? If it's really about that, in a non-melodramatic way, I think this series could soar. If not, that'll be why it sucks...
The trailor imported itself into my dreams last night. Since my subconscious is now hooked, the rest of me must follow. This will be the first of the new fall shows I actually look forward to.
I learned years ago not to wait to get into a series. My curse: If I jump on board too late they will be canceled within a year of my finding them. Now that I don't work nights anymore I give most all of the freshmans at least a looksee.

Squee."
I had this crazy mental picture of Summer throwing open the door to Joss' office , holding out her hand and saying "Come with me if you want to live."
And Joss becoming a puddle on the floor.
