Check out promo pics from "Drive".
Also includes some pictures from FOX' TCA presentation. Sadly, Amy Acker is MIA from the pictures.

Yes they are pretty, in a generic TV kinda way.

Man, I hope this show works. I'm afraid to get worked up over it just to have it pulled out from under me like... well, you know.

Imagine how Minear feels! :-)
This is one FOX show I want to succeed. So I'll support it, in my own meager way... even if it's got the life expectancy of a gnat.
How long do gnat's live anyway?

Erm...
I'm looking forward to seeing this. I'll admit that the premise doesn't grab me like other things do, but I want so badly for it to be a success.

"Does that seem right to you?"

Four months is good.
Seven years is better.

If they keep the vehicle characterization from the original pilot, he's actually vrooming along in a big pickup truck. Even hotter, IMO, though that may just be my inner Texan talking.

"...when asked if the show is going to have different arcs in different seasons, he pleaded mock ignorance by saying, 'I've never been past 15 episodes myself.'"

"3. Tim Minear never worked on Buffy. His other Joss Whedon show was Angel. It's a mistake that happens often.

4. Minear himself said he worked on "Buffy," so that's what I went with. Maybe it was in a capacity that doesn't make the list on IMDb.

I am not the most intense fan and even I have heard interviews where TM has bemoaned the fact that everyone credits him with working on BtVS when he didn't. I wonder if this fellow just really misheard him or did TM finally say "to hell with it" and go with the misinformation?

(Notice how left the bit about it being on FOX off. Just trying to ignore that ominous sign.)
UnpluggedCrazy | January 21, 18:17 CET
We have to wait for it to be cancelled first. No wait, I mean be a massive hit.
gossi | January 21, 18:23 CET
Tim did direct a small part of the episode Fool for love, the boxer rebellion part - spike jumping - because he directed Darla.
I think Drive is to The amazing race what Lost is to Survivor (If you get my meaning). Thats not a bad thing and I like Tim Minear more than J.J. Abrams.
urkonn | January 21, 20:22 CET
And where should we be sending the "Drive, why are you so awesome?" postcards? Y'know, when we've seen a couple of eps and know for reals that it is.
merrily | January 21, 20:39 CET
So it might actually get promoted.

JJ Abrams shows might last longer, but Tim's shows are quality not quantity.
crossoverman | January 21, 21:30 CET
Hmmm. I hope the fact that Nathan is the lead keeps him immune from any death balls. Although to be honest, my first thought on seeing this was: 'Uh oh. There goes Amy.' Luckily for her, my instincts are almost invariably wrong. ;-)

Wow, that's so optimistic. I read it as, "We think this show can swim. So we'll just throw it in the deep end and see if we were right."
Not that I'm cynical, or anything. (I mean, in the bet I've got going with friends, I'm the one betting all 13 eps will be aired. :-P)
Niels(Telltale) | January 21, 22:37 CET
/end shameless promotion.
Does anybody else think that Emma Stone bares a striking resemlance to Lindsay Lohan?
electricspacegirl | January 21, 22:42 CET
THREE HOURS???
Wow. That's a huge ep. In fact, I can't remember any show having a three-hour premiere before. I'm conflicted about whether it's wise.
merrily | January 22, 00:15 CET
Harmalicious | January 22, 00:18 CET
Jackal | January 22, 00:19 CET
And that is definitely a Lindsay Lohan double.
urkonn | January 22, 00:49 CET
And yeah, that's like a lil baby Lohan right there. Please keep all your clothes on young lady, kthxbye.
I second the concerns re. a three hour pilot. What, did Peter Jackson direct? Or are they just running three eps together and pretending it's intended that way?
