The Indigo Girls love Buffy. We love the Indigo Girls even more.

Yay! I agree. I haven't had a chance to listen to the new CD yet, but their summer tour with Three5Human was excellent (though I'd prefer to see Girlyman open for them again). I've seen the Indigo Girls a lot over the years, and they were in top form this summer. I love it when people whose work I love love other people's work that I love!

Nice interview, Simon. Thanks for posting.

Got five of their albums and saw them twice in concert. Makes sense that they bring Buffy DVDs along when traveling, since they probably wouldn't get as big a kick as the rest of us out of listening to Indigo Girls albums.

I love that Amy Ray loves Xander, and I am especially pleased that they emphasized how good the writing is. What a nice interview.

"...when it was over I thought, what am I gonna do?"

Watch Angel of course...do they know Buffy has a spinoff?

LOL, cityof! Great interview, Simon -- this writer really went in depth, really knew the history of the people being interviewed, very interesting! :-)

Great interview. I've vidded the INDIGO GIRLS--- "Ghost" reminds me so much of the Buffy/Spike relationship..

Wonder how they liked that CWDP line,

First/Cassie: I can see it now. Candlelight, the Indigo Girls playing, picture of your dead girlfriend on your bloody lap.

Somebody should give them Firefly.. They show the subversive Sci-Fi love.

I like what Saliers says “You can’t even say why you love that show. It’s got a certain magic to it." That's so much the way I feel. I can't explain the power Buffy has over me. Yeah, the writings great, it's funny, it's witty, it's poignant. But there's more than that, that I can't explain, that I feel when I am watching it. It makes me feel like a part of its world in a way that's not like any other television show.

Also, note the Cibo Matto love. Cibo Matto were the band at the Bronze in "When She Was Bad." However, it probably says something about my age that the phrase "hybrid of trip-hop, rap, riot grrl and Bjork-inspired nonsense" is utterly meaningless to me. (I understand the allusion to Joni Mitchell though).

Hehe... love the Indigo Girls. Angry that the release of the new album has been delayed a week, in Canada. :(

I'm also know wondering how cool it must've been to hear themselves referenced, in CWDP... albeit in a very creepy scene...

The Indigo Girls have been pleasing us geeks with their sweet syncopated harmonies since the hey-days of the dot- com era and 3D animation (I am the proud possessor of a vintage SGI-benefit CD-ROM). Of course, they'd be along for the ride with us on the firefly Serenity.

Isn't there a Indigo Girls reference in The Body?
