Bah. All the "science of" books are basically the same. String theory for alternate dimensions, bio-enhancement for superpowers, mass-hypnosis for people in the streets performing musical numbers, etc. etc. And seriously, do we really care for a show like Buffy? Star Trek I can see, because its actually based on solid scientific theory, but Buffy is a fantasy show, some stuff just wasn't supposed to make sense.

(OK, some of it is in fairness but the Heisenberg compensators among many others ? Not so much)

Try re-running it through the transporter pattern buffer. That usually cleared up those sorts of problems.

Star Trek: The Next Generation was always fun for the physics undergraduates, who would divide into two teams during the airing of each episode. One team would scoff, the other would desperately try to come up with justifications.

I suspect that this book will yield more of the same fun!

Funny, I remember multiple mentions of the "only shrimp" dimension, but can't come up with any memory of a dimension without any. The dimension with nothing but shrimp even made a crossover to AtS, when Illyria, speaking of past glories, talked to Wesley of striding through dimensions, even visiting the "all shrimp" one--though she claimed not to have stayed there because she didn't like it. Loved it!

The no-shrimp world gets mentioned alongside the all-shrimp dimension when Anya is trying to explain multiple dimensions to the Scoobies the first time - it might have been in the Jonathan Superstar episode, my memory is fuzzy on that point (maybe suffering from a dekyon particle wave distortion). But I do remember Tara getting excited about the dimension with no shrimp, because she's allergic.

Anyway, no worries about dekyon particle wave distortion. The episode *was* the Jonathan "Superstar" one.
