I think it's kind of funny that they have this poll going. If you look at the info for WW on IMDB, it lists Morenna Baccarin as WW/Dianna Prince. BUT, we all know how notorius IMDB is for running with bad info, Right?

I keep meaning to update IMDB on that. I would like to announce that I am, in fact, playing Wonder Woman. It's totally true, folks.
I'd vote for gossi. Does it mean I live under a rock if I don't even know who Kate Beckinsale is?
eta: Ah. Looked her up since I was checking out the poll. Will wait patiently for whomever does get cast, while also hoping that Joss has lots of say in the matter.
I have this wonderful feeling that when the casting decision is made, it will be slammed as "OMG. She is so wrong!!! Warner Bros sucks lol!! I know best as I am a spotty 16 male fan boy who has never kissed a girl!!".
I had to check for April 1st too. Thought i'd fallen into a cryogenic chamber again.
I suspect Joss is actually going to fashion WW from a variety of fruits and vegetables (principally bananas since it's one of the taller fruits). To lend depth to the character and a hint of exotic ambiguity maybe just a smidge of tomato.
I read on the interweb that bananas turned it down, and now Joss is looking for lesser known fruits or vegetables -- like mangosteen, sapodilla or bok choy.
To capitalize on gossi's wonderful link in the fan-made trailer thread, I nominate "Lego Wonder Woman." Sigh, I don't why KB keeps being brought up. Obviously, WW needs to be someone of at least "somewhat" statuesque stature. Chris Reeve wasn't exactly Superman when he took the role but at least he had the raw materials going for him.
More seriously, with a vote going 56-44% in favor of KB, even if she were interested, this would not be enough of a groundswell of support for the studio suits to want her. That's nearly half who don't- counting me, of course! I want Morena (who, having just gotten signed to a new TV program is now probably out of the running), but pending not getting her I would settle for the Bok Choy.
I had read that Morena passed on the part as well. However, I saw that bit of info on IMDB. It was in the trivia section of the Wonder Woman page.
Is it just me, or are there a lot of pictures of SMG surfacing with her sporting dark hair? I heard that it’s no secret that she wanted to play WW. I wonder if there is a connection.
I think this project will languish in 'development hell' for a while and then they will announce WW as they did Heath Ledger for the Joker. As Simon wrote, 'OMG She is so wrong' will be heard by all. I would be surprised if this movie makes a calendar this decade.

I'm having fun with all the fantasy casting, and Ms Beckinsale is extremly hot IMHO, but on his past record I'd trust Joss with my house and life savings when it comes to casting decisions.
I've seen Kate in a few things and she doesn't suck but I haven't seen her in any really challenging roles, except maybe Brokedown Palace and she wasn't bad in that.
Whoever Joss goes with I think we can all assume will be right for the role. Remember, until we see the movie we won't know exactly how he want't WW to be portrayed.
Edit to add: Just read her bio on IMDB and (If it's all true, it is IMDB after all...) then she's not exactly Miss Thicko. Majored in French and Russian literature at Oxford? Makes my CSE grade 4 in chemistry look a bit lacking.

Believe it or not, they all populate the craignotbond and alice websites. So I think WW might be safe...
why, why, why, again??? So sick of this stuff. I feel that Wonder Woman is such a wonderful role and it should be casted to someone who is a refreshing and exceptional actress who knows how to throw a punch. A believable unknown. Look at Christopher Reeve and what he did with Superman and he was pretty much an unknown. I have all the faith in the world that Joss will cast the perfect Wonder Woman and that is why he will pick me(hee hee hee)!
I'd rather have a plank of wood playing the part of WonderWoman. At least it would have a bit more personality.
I do hope Joss finds someone soon, because I am honestly sick to death of all the speculation. And I think it's pretty clear that many of the actresses touted for the role are unlikely to be picked, not only because Joss has said he wants to get a relative unknown for the role, but because most of them are famous for their looks rather than genuine acting ability.
Having said that I do hope Joss does consider the likes of Morena or Charisma for the role if he thinks they are good for it. I definitely think Morena could stand a strong chance whereas Charisma is a little older and although she is still fantastic looking it would be a stretch to see her playing someone around the age of 20.
