Comic-Con has some Joss-related goodness on their schedule for July 23. Nancy Holder will discuss Buffy novels and other media tie-ins, the trailer for The Grudge 2 (which SMG has a small part in) will debut, and the California Browncoats will hold a group meeting. In fact, the Browncoats have a press release about the event and how they hope to raise lots of money for charity.

1:30-3:30 California Browncoats Group Meeting� Browncoats are fans of Joss Whedon's Firefly and Serenity. Fans new and old, as well as anyone interested in quality storytelling, are welcome to the meeting. The group will be holding a thank you drawing for all those who donated at the Browncoat table on the show floor. They expect to have many unique and rare prizes from across the �verse, including the Grand Prize: Adam Baldwin�s cast signed shooting script from Serenity. **Please Note** The California Browncoats Fan Table was recently assigned to the main Exhibit Hall. It will be at A11 and A12 in the Exhibit Hall (all the way to the right, and all the way back--same place as last year).

FYI: As noted above, The California Browncoats meeting is for the prize drawing for the charity fundraiser. The prize list is pretty amazing. BTW, you can donate online and be entered without going to Comic-Con.

The fan table will also have a bunch of Browncoat merchandise from several suppliers.

That's all cool and everything, but where is Joss himself? Isn't he coming? He hasn't missed a Comicon in years. He's a staple of the whole thing. And he has plenty stuff going on to talk about.

Yeah I know, not like it's a given, but it's a bummer. I was looking forward to a Q&A with just him like in 2003. If he's on his own he can really get going. It's always good stuff.

Come on Joss, you finished the WW script right? Donthca need a nice diversion?? A little break? Little Comicon visit? Come on, you know you want to....;)

Let's add to the announcements one I saw on Adult Swim last night: there are going to be 2 Adult Swim panels on the Saturday of the con, and our own Seth Green is going to be on one of the panels to talk about Robot Chicken! (Actually, Seth is going to be all over the place!) :-)

Jewel Staite was at TT20 in Toronto this past weekend and said that Joss was w-a-y behind on Wonder Woman. Now this may be old news - didn't he come here just recently and not quite tell us he had really truly finished the first draft? But could be he didn't know where he was going to be with the script and didn't want to commit himself to ComicCon.

Whedon is nominated with John Cassaday for an Eisner Award for Best Continuing Series for Astonishing X-Men (Marvel). I'd bet Cassaday will attend the Con, and I wonder if Joss could stay away :) However, I too wish there were scheduled events.
