And the 'Drive' pilot shoot has already wrapped? That happened pretty fast/quietly.
Yup, this is the new show I look forward to the most.

I'm still waiting for networks to realize that they likely could make money by putting out a yearly DVD of their rejected pilots. Not only make money, but if reaction is extremely high to a given rejected pilot, they might then go take another look and rescue a creator from the rejection.

I'm taking Tim's suggestion and seeing if I can find some episodes of The Inside. I absolutely love Firefly and Wonderfalls, and have been hoping that his other failed show would get a DVD release.
I'm not completely sold on Drive, but I will watch it if Fox picks it up.

That was the pilot that clinched it for me, yeah.

But, irremediably , reminds me to "War of the Worlds", wich is something good.

Hey, hey, hey! Canceled it may be, but let anyone suggest The Inside failed as a show! ;-)

(i'm watching 'The Inside' at the moment and really enjoying it. Web is one of the more interesting characters from a - sort of - procedural i've seen)
I really like the idea of a DVD of pilots that weren't picked up and I think it'd be good for actors/directors/writers etc. to have their work 'out there' at very little cost to the studios and, potentially, a new revenue stream and what amounts to a huge 'focus' group for them. Of course, it'd require forward thinking and a willingness to try new things so i've already put in my advanced order (it's due out on the 25th August 2000and-hell-freezing-over ;).

Oh, and Web just creeps me the hell out. Every time you see a new ep, he's even creepier than in the last one. It's brilliant.

I've just watched the one where he comes back from suspension and Paul says something like 'The world's safer with him here' to which Locke responds 'Not out there, you mean ?'. Amusing and insightful at the same time. He's kind of like how I see the SAS. Yeah, they're all a bit loopy, maybe bordering on psychopathic, but at least they're on our side. Probably ;).

And the good news is, the best episodes are the ones there on out, Saje. I commented on Buffistas after I finished watching The Inside - I actually grew to love that show, as in theory it was just another procedural, but in pratice it really got into the characters fears and motivations. If every procedural was that good, it would be TV heaven.

Heh, that reminds me of the new Showtime series, Dexter, starring Michael C. Hall from Six Feet Under, as a forensics expert who cuts out the middleman by killing murderers. Good times. ;-)

You could probably write a very interesting article comparing Web to a serial killer profile.
Niels | July 03, 13:14 CET
The way he filters cases is sort of analogous to a serial killer choosing victims, then he stalks them (vicariously at least) and often lures them into reach by using bait (usually without the bait's consent or even knowledge). He's extremely keen to understand the killer's motivations and once he has he usually kills them or causes them to be killed. That might constitute a 'signature' even if his MO changes from case to case.
Motive wise you could possibly make a case that he's searching for someone the same as himself, that maybe he's lonely or needs confirmation that he's not as big a freak as he thinks.
Anyway, from what i've seen (about 7 eps in) i'd say he has sociopathic tendencies (he's just so callously manipulative) but whether he's a serial killer is open to (interesting) speculation.
