(SPOILER) Spike comic mini-series promo ad. The initial cover ad for the upcoming Spike Asylum comic series, a five part mini-series to be published in September. Written by Brian Lynch.

Basically poster art posted by Brian on his Myspace page...he has been updating the progress for some time. Looks good! According to his blog today, this is the first "official" ad and he just received permission to release the picture!
Poster gives a really sketchy plot overview so I included "Spoiler" tag to be safe.

I think we've seen the pic before but the blurb is new. Interesting idea for a rehab centre for demons. Not utterly convinced as to why one would exist but I'm sure we'll find out :).

Definitely liking the vampire/ demon rehab as well. It reminds me of all those ridiculous "gay rehabs."

Or the Mutant Cure from X-3? People always trying to cure things that are not in need of "curing." Sorry, still really raw about that movie and how much it pissed me off.

But that sort of conept it always interesting, so I'm looking forward to this even moreso now.

Man, i'm really looking forward to this series. Brian has some intresting ideas, and so far i like his take on Spike.

That sounds pretty good.

In Case You didn't know InevitableTraitor, the mutant cure idea was from Joss's own Astonishing X-Men.

I am looking forward to this series too. I love that this guy really likes Spike and loves to write him.
Much thanks to IDW for being so inspired and eager to give Spike a lot of covereage through different artists and writers.

Here's hoping this series will be great and there will be much, much more in Spike's future!!!!! I know I will be there to buy whatever they want to put out!!!!!I need me my Spike fix!!!!

Thanks for your comments, guys! I just handed in the script to issue 3 and it's jam-packed with Spike goodness.

As for why there's a vampire/demon/rehab center, well, you'll see...but after living in LA where there are self-help clinics/gurus/cults/religions that promise to help you quit overeating, or supress your sexual urges, or quit smoking, or etc. I figured that if there WERE monsters in LA, there would be a clinic for them soonafter. Someone would think about doing it, you know?

And if the comic does well, I'm seriously gonna open up my own monster clinic. There, I said it. Hop on now!

Are you not seeing the .jpg anindoorkitty?

Simon, I got to the .jpeg but I couldn't navigate to anything written about it. Perhaps that's what anindoorkitty means? I wanted to read the part about the clinic.

Hi Brian! I've been pleased with the other Spike comics so I'll be picking this one up too. Sounds like excellent social commentary. Looking forward to it. :) Welcome to the board!

Hmmm if you click on the bottom right corner of the .jpg, the pic should get bigger (I'm using IE 6 btw).

I probably missed this information some other time, but do we know the time period this is set in?

If you're using Firefox you may need to click on the image to increase its size.

Well, it had been made in XMen before Joss's AXmen; many years before.

Thanks Simon! I'm still kind of laughing over, "...if therapy doesn't kill him..."

Weird. I have no link or pic either. Tried Ie as well as FF.

Some comments by Lynch and Ryall about the continuity of "Spike: Asylum" have been compiled here.

Oh lord I'm so looking forward to reading this issue!

Sounds like a wonderful idea. Great cover artwork aswell. *carry's on perving over Spike in a straightjacket*

I also get no link or picture. Tried it with both FF and IE as well. Glad to see I'm not the only one!

Thanks Dalton. I remember reading those comments now.

does this mean there is not going to be a movie?

Hey Brian, good to see you popping in, and its great to see you writing this Spike book. I was an old 'rider on the board' at viewaskew.com back in the day before the board rolled over to phpBB. Can't wait for the book to hit and still have not managed to see Big Helium Dog, though I have just moved to Jersey so that increases my chances, right? :)

Strange. Opened this page at work and I get the link. Try it again back home, no link....
